Here's a photo of Jeffrey from the Oldies Night at Donk's the other weekend. I took a bazillion photos.
I planted pansies in all of the barrels and some sweet little pink flowers in the container by the diving board. It's been a challenge to keep the water off the pool cover with all the downpours we have had lately! I am hoping to take the cover off the pool really soon. I just love seeing the water down there even if it is too cold to get in!
Al was off from school yesterday, so she had an acupuncture treatment and then we ate together at Nanny's. Hadn't been there in a long time!
John finishes up his messages at Prince George Christian Church tomorrow night during their Maundy Thursday service. He's thinking of getting a hearing aid with the extra $$$. Ohhhh I hope so!
I heard from Tim in England. He is feeling better and plans to go to Diss the end of the month. We have enough airmiles on my credit card for Al & I to go...the decision is when would be the best time?? Now is my busiest season...Al getting ready to graduate, .....maybe in the fall. I do want to see where the 2012 Olympics are being held in London!
Just got a note from Paige...Grover had surgery a few days ago...shoulder surgery, so he is having a lot of pain and rehab is going to be a blister.
I am swamped with workcamp. Visited five houses yesterday....applications still rolling in. The fellow is designing the tshirt as we speak. I think I have made the decision about Tues. nite's entertainment. Stepping out on faith, so we'll see!
I keep seeing notes online about the team putting together our 40th high school reunion. I am so looking forward to it! I just know it's going to be a terrific time seeing old childhood friends!
I finished putting all the 2008 photos online for the workcampers. Now just 2009 to go!
Well, back to work!

Talking Racoons
We've all had fun celebrating Al's 23rd birthday. Folks in her Asian Medicine & Religion class bought a giant cookie & ate & sang at VCU. She used her new digital voice recorder like they have on investigations & recorded some wonderful sounds in her bedroom.
Thursday we headed to Williamsburg for an all American two days of fun at the WOLF LODGE.
We went down with the YaYas. Our room was wonderful, spacious & had a fireplace. We played in the indoor waterpark, found bargains in the outlets and stood in the snowflakes of the Yankee Candle Shoppe.
Now she'll go back to Richmond to celebrate with her girls. It was fun!

Do The Right Thing!
There has been so much happening that's it's hard to remember what to write down. The photo is of Uncle Jimmie Smith of Donk's Theater. He is Lynda's daddy and MC for the theater. About 15 of us traveled to Mathews County for a terrific evening of good music and friends. My old high school friend, Debbie Healy Goodrich rode down with Allie, the Scudders and I.
Before the evening at Donk's, Allie & I went to a baby shower for Jessica Daniel V. across the street. She and Allie have been friends since childhood and now she is getting ready to have a little girl in May. They have named her Karlee.
I have been buried in applications for Workcamp 2010. About 300 of them came in so I've been sorting transportation, crews, alphabetical lists, second mailings. It's exciting to see who is coming. Right now is exhausting tho trying to shuffle everything. I love it tho!
Sunday was a Tabernacle Sunday, so I was dragging after being out at Donk's the night before. John's sermon was fantastic tho! He finishes up his Lenten Series tomorrow nite. He is also doing the Maundy Thursday service for Prince George Christian.
Of course, the Romaines celebrated the passage of health care coverage into law. I am so thankful to finally be living in a time that people are looking beyond themselves. I hope greed is behind us....at least for awhile.
We are celebrating Allie's birthday week. Tomorrow is her actual birthday....we'll celebrate a little here. Then she has class and is going out to celebrate with her girls.
Then Thursday, the "YA YAs" are heading to Williamsburg. Alicia, Ellen, Allie & I are spending the nite at the WOLF LODGE. Yep, it's tacky and touristy, but we are going to have some water fun and a room with a fireplace! It'll be Al'd second day of celebrating her birthday. Then this weekend, her girls are taking her out to dinner. I am hoping her class ring that we ordered will arrive for her bday. I don't think I can wait until graduation to give it to her!

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling!
This week has been a flurry of activity...and I don't know why it seems like that when I look back on it.
Sunday turned out to be a wonderful day. I went to the final service of Walnut Hill Baptist Church. I had hesitated to go...I just didn't want to be part of a sad service. There were so many old friends there though and seeing them made all the difference in the day. I took daffodil pins to put on all the old youth group members. Glenn & Sheila were there also! I still don't really understand the closing....and John & I wished we were about 20 years younger and we might have......
Allie is off this week because of spring break. It's good to have her home & relaxed. We have been staying up late so I am dragging a little. She's had a chance to go out with friends and then curl up at her place for quiet.
I looked at two more houses this week. There has been some confusion in coordinating with Elderhomes & Rebuilding Petersburg. I would hate for it to be said that 'I don't play well with others" so I am making a special effort to untangle the snag.
Sunday was the deadline for all the workcamp church applications, covenants, transportion info, etc to be in. Of course, only about 1 third of it is in...more than enough to keep me at the computer all day tho. It's all looking good. I reserved the Fort Lee Cosmic Bowling alley for both camps. Now looking at Tuesday nite's concert entertainment. I think I have something, but don't want to let the cat out of the bag just yet.
The daffodils are blooming and I LOVE IT! I put the photo of Jeff at the top because we are heading to DONK'S tomorrow nite for their OLDIES SHOW. There will be about 15 of us. My old high school friend Debbie is part of the gang and many from her family are meeting us down there. Prior to Donk's, Jessica (allie's childhood friend across the street) is having a baby shower at Blandford UMC. Al made little "Karlee" a crochet hat with a flower on the side....and we both picked out some great books. This is really a milestone tho....I'm feeling like the old lady!
Alicia & Ellen came over last nite. She is working at the mall taking pictures with the Easter bunny. Kent is sometimes the bunny & sometimes he is running the little train. Allie, Alicia & I put our heads together last nite to help Ellen with a poster on the bubonic plague. How fun was that!
Today is Jon David's birthday. I called him at his office this morning. I found one of our older workcampers on Facebook the other nite....turns out he is in Iraq with three months to go. Hopefully all the workcampers will rally and send him notes on the internet.
Wish I could nap a little, but as soon as my head hits the pillow, I think of all the things I could be doing! AGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

OK! Stop Procrastinating!
I just heard that this year's hurricane season is going to be really active. The photo above is of Mississippi in '06 when we headed down there after Katrina.
I just don't feel like typing up houses!!!! There I said it! I would like to go into a "hidey hole" for a couple of days. Don't know why.
Yesterday I wanted to "kick some !@# out at the Fort Lee golf course. You can mess with me but not with my child or husband! Nuff said!
I went with John on Wednesday nite to Prince George Christian Church He is speaking for their 6 week Lenton services on Wednesday nites. If you click on the following link and and then click on sermons, you can hear his message on a podcast. Cool! http://www.pgchristianchurch.org/
We received an invite to the Jessica Daniels Vljokan baby shower next Saturday. It will be a full day. First the shower and then DONK'S! Al & I went to Books A Million and bought Stellaluna and some Dr. Seuss books as gifts. Who could forget "MARVIN K.MOONEY WILL YOU PLEASE GO NOW!"
This weekend I am attending Walnut Hill Baptist's last service before they close their doors. At first I wasn't going, but then....Glenn & Sheila Plott said they were going.....and then on Facebook some of the old youth group folks said they were coming and bringing their families....soooooooo....that did me in! I would love to see the "kids" and their families.
I finally got the web visitor counter working on the workcamp website. Be sure to visit the WORKCAMP WEBSITE at http://tcworkcamps.org/ .
My aunt Janet fell in her basement and broke her wrist last weekend. She had surgery (she was awake!) on Monday to put pins in her wrist. I love to send her goofy cards....she loves them!
My cousin Tim in London sent me a box full of Beanie Bears and daffodil pins! He has been really sick this winter....swine flue and then tonsilitus.. I hope we get to see him this year!
Al had an eye appointment yesterday and then had to go order reading glasses. We saw Hannah Born in the optical place. She is SO sweet. She mentioned tho that she had had the stomach flu two weeks ago...and that it had been passed around in the store to almost everyone. We lathered up with Purel when we left!

Just A Little Tidbit
This is a photo Allie & her Uncle Jeffrey on her confirmation day. He's really looking good! There are about 12 of us heading down to DONK'S Theater on March 20th for the Oldies Show. Really looking forward to it! Fun nite! Will be pooped the next morning because it's a Tabernacle Sunday!
Al convinced me to go the the opening midnite showing of Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND. What a weird and wonderful movie! No need for 3D. Ben and Jennifer were there too.
Quiet weekend ahead. Al has plans all weekend so she won't be here this weekend. I plan to put a fire in the woodstove and load photos onto the website. It's a timely venture, but well worth it.
Sunday is a first Sunday of the month at Tabernacle so it will be a terrific sermon by JR and then potluck with the church people. I love first Sundays....
I ordered Al's graduation announcements & class ring today....
Need to do laundry.....change sheets.....type some houses....bathe Will.... just a good ol' weekend at home!
Went to Southside Regional Medical Center yesterday. Jessica Bailey Mauger is there for a few days...they found a blood clot in her leg....serious.....she was sound asleep, so I left her a tacky magazine and scooted out. Will try to visit again today.....prayers appreciated!

Snow AGAIN!!??
The computer is a bit slow today....it is so overcast outside....rain & a bit of wet snow last night. I really don't pay much attention to the weather tho unless it is active enough to interrupt my activities, and it's not.
I looked at five houses yesterday and one more is on the list for today. I really have to buckle down and look for a concert artist & get the tshirts designed and on order.
The workcamp website is up and running and I am so proud of this accomplishment. I totally learned something new. I designed it and now manage it. Mr. Lee from Wesley UMC donated the space and helped me get it online....he was such a dear! SO, take a look at it!! http://tcworkcamps.org/
John is loving speaking at Prince George Christian each Wednesday nite for their Lenton services. He's studying hard and is doing a fantastic job! There are about 125 people there each week!
Al picked up her cap & gown the other day! The reality is about to set in...we are so proud of her!
This is her birthday month, so Alicia, Ellen, Al & I are going down to the WOLF LODGE for a girls evening on March 25th. Just having some girltime!
The photo above is of Al & her longtime friend Paul B.. This was taken a few days after her confirmation. He has moved into his own place in Richmond.
Will chased turkeys out of the yard the other day. John had some stone delivered for the driveway. The garage door isn't working on & off. Al has acupuncture tomorrow.
I have saved the best for last. This past Sunday I traveled to Sandston Presbyterian Church. Debbie "Healy" , my dear friend from high school is married to the pastor there. It was less than 30 minutes away, but we hadn't seen each other in at least 20 years! I asked the usher where she usually sat....and I plopped myself down on her pew. When she arrived I scooted over....said hello....and she didn't even recognize me!! Long story short, we ended up yakking at a restaurant after church until they closed....IT WAS SO GOOD TO CONNECT WITH HER!!!! I hope we don't lose touch...
Well, on to Ms Watt's house.....yesterday she said she was frying fish cakes with onions and didn't hear the doorbell when I came by. Then she proceeded to continuously ring the doorbell over the phone to show me that it worked! My , oh, my...what fun these kids are going to have this summer!
