When I explained to her after we build her ramp and help her get a motorized wheelchair, she can go outside ANY time she wants and with the right transportation, go anywhere she wants. She started crying, and as we held hands, she said, "You are telling me the truth, right? You are coming back, right?" I assured her I would not only be back, but with a little army.
Here's the song.
1)
She lay in a bed for ten years.....in a place where no one should be.
Holding on to any hope she could hear, touch or see.
Then a friend said, "Now you'll come home with me."
I will take care of you, dear one. I will take care of you...because
CHORUS:
Sometimes in our darkest hour, a hand appears to hold.
The warmth of just a human touch makes this world seem less cold.
If we can hold on to each other, and say as we walk through
"I am here for you, dear one. I am here for you.
2)
She was littler than little...trusting every friend, every foe.
With eyes that saw only the best in us... but the worst was all she had known.
Then trusting arms reached down to her with a voice so kind and true.
"I am here here for you, little one. I am here for you." ...because
CHORUS:
Sometimes in our darkest hour, a hand appears to hold.
The warmth of just a human touch makes this world seem less cold.
If we can hold on to each other, and say as we walk through
"I am here for you, dear one. I am here for you"
